System 04 — Curtain Wall

Light

Architecture.

A curtain wall is a non-load-bearing façade of glass and aluminum framing hung from the building structure. It keeps air and water out, resists wind load and controls heat and noise. Alumshine installs both unitized systems, pre-assembled in the factory, and stick systems, assembled on site.

01Overview

Curtain Wall & Window Wall Systems

Alumshine supplies and installs architectural glazing built from lightweight glass and quality aluminum framing, protecting the structure from intense wind loads, rainwater penetration, dust and snow.

Our curtain wall work covers design, fabrication and professional on-site installation of both stick and unitized systems for commercial buildings across Toronto and the GTA. We also offer spider point glass — a frameless structural glazing method.

02Advantages

Why this system.

01

Keep air and water out

The primary function: a buffer and insulator over the structure.

02

Reduce building sway

Resistant to thermal expansion and contraction, helping large buildings handle high wind loads.

03

Slow fire spread

Quality curtain walls act as a barrier — valuable on high-rise buildings.

04

Thermal efficiency

Correct treatment and glazing stabilizes interior temperature and reduces energy cost; glazing also cuts UV.

05

Sound insulation

Significant reduction of outside noise near busy streets, highways and high-traffic areas.

06

Business appearance

A clean, sophisticated and distinctive read for a commercial building.

03Options

Types & configurations.

Unitized systems

Pre-assembled in the factory and delivered as single units. Sized to the building's floor-to-floor height, ideal for high-rise work and fast programmes — no external scaffolding or cranes required.

Stick curtain walls

Components assembled directly on site. Primarily used for low-rise buildings and tailored configurations, allowing precise adjustment during installation, though the process takes longer.

Other categories supplied

Spider glass systems, fiberglass façade options, weatherproof rubber seals, stainless steel structural frameworks and custom glass walls.
